About the Author
LaFaye McFarland Platter
LaFaye Platter is an executive leadership coach and keynote speaker with a long history of helping others succeed. She takes pride in providing simple solutions for complex systems by helping leaders and their team tap into their emotional intelligence, social and political savvy and their technical skills. The result is an engaged and responsive organizational culture. Dr. Platter is the lead instructor for the Leaders to Watch program that was started by the National Forum Schools to Watch institution. She is also a coach to the coaches for the Association for California School Administrators (ACSA) program. As part of her effort to remain aware of current trends, she regularly serves as a committee member on doctoral dissertations. LaFaye retired in 2018 as a Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources. She spent 25 years in public education and higher education. Prior to her education career, she worked over a decade in finance, marketing, and investment real estate. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration, a master’s in educational leadership, and a doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.
